 FC Goa secured a 2-1 victory over league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant in the Indian Super League (ISL) match held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on December 20, 2024. 


The Gaurs took an early lead in the 12th minute when Brison Fernandes' shot deflected off a defender, wrong-footing the goalkeeper and finding the net. Mohun Bagan equalized in the 55th minute through a penalty converted by Dimitri Petratos, awarded after a handball in the box. Fernandes secured the win for FC Goa with his second goal in the 68th minute, heading in a cross from Borja Herrera. 


This victory propels FC Goa to third place in the league standings, while Mohun Bagan remains at the top despite the defeat. The match was marked by FC Goa's effective counter-attacks and solid defense, limiting Mohun Bagan's opportunities to find an equalizer in the latter stages of the game.
